Itinerary

Day 1

After pickup up we leave Adelaide at 7.00am and head to the Eyre Peninsula via Port Augusta and Whyalla.

The Eyre Peninsula is one of those great secrets many people have not yet discovered. Teeming with some of Australia's most amazing and outstanding real wildlife experiences, the lack of a major airport and too far to drive for most domestic travellers, this piece of paradise is one that only those who have been, can give that knowing smile of discovery of a very special place indeed.

When we arrive in Port Lincoln and after we have checked into the YHA we will go to Mikkira Station. We have time to go for a walk around the property to see some Giant Yakkas and see if you can find some koalas in the Manna Gums around Mikkira station.

Accommodation and meals will be in shared dorm style room in Port Lincoln private upgrade available for an additional $180 per person.

Day 2

Today is an extreme day of fun! Those that dare come face to face with the Great White Shark on a day tour, this is an optional experience ($395 per person) Up at 5.30 to board the vessel at 6.30 am

Guest’s board at the Marina Hotel pontoon to the smell of hot coffee made fresh on-board. After an introduction and safety briefing from the skipper of the day, we throw off the ropes and set off for the Neptune Islands. Breakfast is served shortly after departure.

Sit back, relax and enjoy your journey we have a 2 1⁄2 hour cruise and we are often accompanied by pods of dolphins and even the odd whale, in season. During the trip, the friendly crew will provide you with information about the fishing industries, the ‘local area’ and the marine life. ’Take in the spectacular coastal scenery of lower Spencer Gulf and the islands of Thorny Passage. In season, you can try your luck at catching a Southern Bluefin Tuna

On arrival at the Islands the skipper gets the boat up as close to the land as he can so you can get the best views and the best photos of the New Zealand Fur Seal colony. The exact dive location for the day is chosen and it’s time to drop anchor. The ocean surrounding the Neptune Islands is crystal clear which makes for ideal viewing of the Great White Sharks.

Groups enter our new spacious cage 6 at a time. This way you get some welcome human company and you still get plenty of room for prime shark viewing. Once the sharks arrive, each group will have the opportunity to spend about 45 minutes in the cage, face to face with the amazing Great White Shark. Please note that time in the cage can vary and will depend on shark activity and weather on the day.

Even when you’re not in the water, you don’t miss out — the action from the very spacious upper and lower decks is fantastic so make sure you keep your camera ready for that once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity. We have our own cameras mounted on the shark cage so you can also sit in the comfort of our saloon and watch the underwater action live-streaming

‘Life is not about the distance travelled... It’s about the experience gained on the journey.’

As well as breakfast, they provide you with morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, plus coffee/tea and cold soft drinks, all included. The vessel is fully-licensed vessel so the bar is open on the way home for your convenience.

Those not wishing to be quite so extreme, have a choice of free activities to choose from.
Walk the Investigator trail from North Shields back to Port Lincoln 10km, Parnkalla trail from Billy lights back to Makybe Diva statue on the fore shore(5km), Railway museum (open 2-4pm) or the Art gallery at the Nautilus Theatre.
Priced activities- Glen

Accommodation and meals will be in shared dorm style room in Port Lincoln private upgrade available for an additional $180 per person.

Day 3

After breakfast we head over to the marina and head to Hopkins Island, where we take opportunity to experience one of Australia's most unique wildlife experiences - swimming with Australian sea lions. This incredible wildlife experience involves a 1⁄2 day boat cruise. We find the friendly populations and can swim and snorkel amongst them. There is nothing that can parallel the feeling of communing with the puppy dogs of the sea.

Tour Note: SeaSA Ferry is not running, the tour travels through Port Augusta and down to Port Lincoln this takes about the same amount of time and passengers can see the landscape change and view the Southern Flinders Ranges as we travel to Port Lincoln.
